Sidesync improves the interactivity between your computer and mobile device. As we come to rely increasingly on our phones and mobile devices in our daily lives, the line between the two is beginning to blur. But tablets, phones, and computers each offer their own distinct advantages and disadvantages. Sidesync breaks down the barriers between the wide array of devices we use by allowing people to seamlessly access information from their mobile device on their computer and vice versa. Sidesync is compatible with Galaxy phones and tablets and computers running on the Windows OS or iOS.

Setting up Sidesync is as simple as downloading the app for the devices you want to share. Once this has been completed, all you have to do is set them up on the same network. You can seamlessly display your mobile device's screen on your computer screen. This makes it a great choice when you're looking to send out elaborate text messages or project video from your phone onto your computer.

Users have choices over how they want to manipulate their devices. Through screen sharing, users can make use of their keyboard and mouse to manipulate menus on their phone or use their phone's screen to navigate information on their computer.

  • BLUETOOTH: Allows applications to connect to paired bluetooth devices.
  • BLUETOOTH_ADMIN: Allows applications to discover and pair bluetooth devices.
  • BROADCAST_STICKY: Allows an application to broadcast sticky intents. These are broadcasts whose data is held by the system after being finished, so that clients can quickly retrieve that data without having to wait for the next broadcast.
  • CALL_PHONE: Allows an application to initiate a phone call without going through the Dialer user interface for the user to confirm the call.
  • CAMERA: Required to be able to access the camera device.
  • CAPTURE_AUDIO_OUTPUT: Allows an application to capture audio output.
  • CAPTURE_VIDEO_OUTPUT: Allows an application to capture video output.
  • CHANGE_CONFIGURATION: Allows an application to modify the current configuration, such as locale.
  • CHANGE_NETWORK_STATE: Allows applications to change network connectivity state.
  • CHANGE_WIFI_STATE: Allows applications to change Wi-Fi connectivity state.
  • DELETE_PACKAGES: Allows an application to delete packages.

  • READ_SMS: Allows an application to read SMS messages.
  • RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting. If you don't request this permission, you will not receive the broadcast at that time. Though holding this permission does not have any security implications, it can have a negative impact on the user experience by increasing the amount of time it takes the system to start and allowing applications to have themselves running without the user being aware of them. As such, you must explicitly declare your use of this facility to make that visible to the user.
  • RECEIVE_MMS: Allows an application to monitor incoming MMS messages.
  • RECEIVE_SMS: Allows an application to receive SMS messages.
  • RECEIVE_WAP_PUSH: Allows an application to receive WAP push messages.

  • STATUS_BAR: Allows an application to open, close, or disable the status bar and its icons.
  • SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW: Allows an app to create windows using the type TYPE_SYSTEM_ALERT, shown on top of all other apps. Very few apps should use this permission; these windows are intended for system-level interaction with the user.

  • VIBRATE: Allows access to the vibrator.
  • WAKE_LOCK: Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
